We are seeking a highly experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of a well-established, growth-oriented organization in a dynamic, project-driven industry. This role is a strategic leadership position, responsible for overseeing accounting functions. What You Will Do:

  • Manage all aspects of accounting, including cost accounting, project financials, and general ledger activities
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Lead and grow a finance team, with plans to expand the department to include multiple direct reports
  • Collaborate with operational and executive teams to track project scope, changes, and costs
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting, including key metrics and trend analysis
  • Support long-term planning, capital expenditures, and operational efficiencies
  • Foster continuous improvement within the finance function, promoting best practices in financial management

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • Strong background in cost accounting, with extensive project or job-cost accounting experience
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in unstructured, fast-changing environments
  • Experience working in privately held organizations or project-based industries
  • Industry experience is ideal but not essential–success in similar roles within manufacturing, construction, or specialized industrial sectors is valued
  • Excellent communication skills, teamwork, patience, and a desire to develop into a senior leadership role
  • Ability to handle variability, scope changes, and unplanned costs with professionalism and resilience
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background checks, including criminal, credit, and drug screening
  • Certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred, but not mandatory
