Service Manager – HVAC

Palmer Group is partnering with an established family-owned heating and cooling provider in the Iowa City area for Service Manager. The Service Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing service operations, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, supporting and developing field technicians, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency. This role serves as a technical resource, coach, and leader for the service team while collaborating with dispatch, installation, and management teams to drive department performance and customer satisfaction. What You Will Do:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, productivity, and quality
• Lead, train, and support service team members through coaching, performance management, and professional development initiatives
• Act as the primary point of escalation for complex service issues, customer concerns, and operational challenges
• Coordinate with internal teams to improve scheduling, resource utilization, and overall service delivery
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

• Minimum of 3 years of leadership, management, or customer service experience within a service-related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex service issues
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and customer service skills, with the ability to coach and develop team members
• Proficiency with service management software and standard computer applications
