The Assistant Project Manager role is an opportunity to oversee fabrication operations while developing and improving manufacturing processes within a fabrication facility. This position combines programming, scheduling, quality control, and team coordination to support successful project execution. The selected candidate will gain hands-on experience working alongside fabricators, building the knowledge needed to lead the department effectively. What You Will Do:

  • Manage the fabrication schedule for the door fabrication department while anticipating deadlines and production bottlenecks
  • Program and maintain Door RhinoFAB machines and related glazing software used to cut, drill, and route aluminum
  • Read shop drawings, blueprints, and plans to ensure accurate fabrication dimensions and specifications
  • Create fabrication drawings that communicate dimensions, door swings, hardware requirements, and custom fabrication details
  • Coordinate with fabricators, machine operators, receiving teams, and delivery functions to support project timelines
  • Maintain quality control standards for materials and fabricated products while supporting process improvements

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • Demonstrate strong computer skills with the ability to navigate software, emails, and electronic files independently
  • Apply technical aptitude, attention to detail, and effective problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Communicate effectively through listening, verbal, and written communication
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiently
  • Exhibit a proactive work mentality and the ability to coordinate across multiple functions
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and experience or education related to engineering, CAD software, or CNC machine programming
