DevOps Engineer

Local Ankeny company is looking for a DevOps Engineer that is responsible for supporting and maintaining DevOps infrastructure and backend shared services that enable efficient software development and deployment across business units. This role will contribute to CI/CD pipelines, assist in managing application infrastructure, support the Git environment, and help develop and maintain core backend services. What You Will Do:

• Develops and maintains backend shared services (user management, authentication, notifications, and file handling) using Java and Spring Boot
• Builds and supports CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate builds, testing, security scans, and deployments across multiple applications
• Administers a self-hosted GitLab environment, including system upkeep, repository organization, and user access management
• Integrates security best practices into development workflows through automated testing, vulnerability management, compliance checks, and threat detection
• Implements and manages version-controlled infrastructure and deployment processes
• Produces and maintains documentation for DevOps workflows, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
• 2-4 years of background in DevOps, software development, or a similar technical role
• Practical knowledge of Java and/or Spring Boot, along with Bash, Linux shell scripting, and SQL
• Exposure to TypeScript and C# considered an asset
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI/CD or comparable tools
